Project Awareness is an application created to inform and to spread awareness about various diseases. According to the Center for Disease Control, the leading cause of death in the United States is a disease: Heart Disease; killing 787,000 people in 2011. Despite global efforts to hinder the effect of diseases on life on Earth, society fails to comprehend the scope of diseases influence. Project Awareness is designed to spread factual, reliable information to all corners of the world through technology, giving users the knowledge about the disease, its effects, its prevalence, all in their very fingertips.

Project Awareness was created by the developer team "Juiced In." in 2015. The necessity for on-demand information regarding diseases was brought to light as the start-up club "Youth Organization for Disease Awareness" was founded at John C. Kimball High School in Tracy, CA. A developer team was founded to design, code, and curate information for an application that would provide, not only club members at Kimball high school, but the entire world an easy, reliable source of disease-related information.
